When the Mondrian Gold Coast was announced, the brief was clear: world-class hospitality lighting across 208 guest rooms, multiple restaurants, public areas, a rooftop pool club, and back-of-house facilities — all coordinated against one of the tightest commissioning schedules on the Gold Coast.
For Techlight, this meant managing multiple manufacturer relationships, coordinating staged deliveries across a live construction site, and maintaining specification compliance from design intent through to practical completion.
The challenge: scale without compromise
Hospitality projects of this scale typically involve 15–20 different luminaire families across decorative, architectural, general, and emergency categories. Each product family has its own lead time, compliance pathway, and warranty structure. Without a single coordinating supply partner, the procurement team is managing dozens of individual manufacturer timelines — any one of which can create a programme delay.

A coordinated supply pathway
Techlight was brought in during the early specification phase — before procurement had locked in. This early involvement allowed us to validate each specified product against manufacturer availability, compliance status, and realistic lead times.
Where products were discontinued or had lead times that conflicted with the build programme, we identified compliant alternatives with the architect's approval — maintaining design intent while keeping the delivery pathway viable.

Staged delivery against a live programme
Deliveries were staged across rough-in, fit-off, and final fix — each confirmed 48 hours in advance. The hotel construction involved multiple zones completing at different times, which meant Techlight was managing overlapping delivery schedules across different floors and venues simultaneously.
“The lighting was never on our critical path. Techlight managed the manufacturers, the staging, and the paperwork — we just received confirmed deliveries when we needed them.”

Documentation and handover
At practical completion, Techlight compiled the full documentation pack — warranty certificates from each manufacturer, AS/NZS compliance certificates, product data sheets, and a consolidated supply record. The hotel operator received everything needed for ongoing maintenance and warranty claims in a single handover.

Key takeaway
Early involvement, manufacturer coordination, and programme-linked delivery turned a complex multi-venue hospitality project into a smooth supply pathway. That's what full-scope lighting delivery looks like.
